01. Pandupol Hanuman Temple
The mythological site of Pandupol is believed to be the place where the Pandavas stayed during their exile and Bhima conquered the demon Hidimba. Its Hanuman temple is also a famous holy pilgrimage site for Hindus and houses a large statue of reclining Hanuman, which attracts devotees from all over India.
A 60 feet high waterfall located near the temple complex, which was created by the Pandavas during their exile, and the surrounding lush green landscape are other attractions of this picturesque place that make the temple quite valuable and impressive. Here, you will also see various species of monkeys, which are believed to be the incarnation of Lord Hanuman. Devotees are requested not to feed the monkeys or any animals while visiting the temple.
02. Bhartrihari Temple
Dedicated to Yogi Bhartrihari Nath, a king-turned saint, this is one of the prime places to visit near Sariska Tiger Reserve. A deemed ancient Hindu pilgrimage, it is famous for its glorious white marble structure, beautiful scenery, and cascading waterfalls.
Its Rajasthani architectural characteristics like wide galleries, carved shikhara & mandaps, etc. strengthen its elegance and popularity. The temple is thronged by thousands of Lord Shiva’s devotees every year and especially in the month of Bhadrapada when a fair is organized every year. The temple is regarded as very sacred, and according to the beliefs, has fulfilled the wishes of many.
03. The Kankwari Fort
Known for brilliant Rajasthani architecture, this fort is one of the major places to see in Sariska for its heritage importance and surrounding landscapes. The fort was built by Jai Singh I but later used by Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb.
He used it as the exile place for his brother Dara Shikoh who served his lifetime expulsion at this fort. But this is not the only high point that attracts a multitude of tourists to this place; its lush beauty and sprawling green meadows are inviting as well. It also provides a panoramic glimpse of the forest underneath, which is another captivating element of the fort.
04. Bhangarh Fort
Notoriously known as the most haunted place in India, Bhangarh Fort is a miracle of Moghul architecture. Built by Madho Singh in 1631, this fort is a heritage wealth in Rajasthan but is believed to be cursed by a black magician.
It is one of the most fascinating places to see in Sariska and the best one for adventure lovers. One can visit the ruins of the fort, but only after sunrise and before sunset as entry is prohibited in the night. 05. Neelkantha Mahadeva Temple
A historical stunner, Neelkantha Mahadeva Temple is situated in Rajgarh Tehsil of Alwar and is dedicated to the NeelKanth reincarnation of Lord Shiva. It is one of the most significant religious things to see in Sariska among Lord Shiva’s followers.
Though most of the temple complex turned into ruins now, its intact portion is the center of attraction for all heritage admirers. The architecture of the temple is somewhat similar to Khajuraho temples as the walls are engraved with beautiful sculptures. Hindu devotees visit this temple to offer prayers at the Shivlinga present inside the temple and get some respite from the chaotic life.
06. Siliserh Lake
Established in 1845, the charming Siliserh Lake is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Sariska to enjoy leisure time with your loved ones amid the stunning surroundings. The lake is a manmade wonder and is spread across more than seven kilometers.
